Professor José Roberto Ribeiro took office as the new director of Colégio Técnico de Limeira (Cotil) for the 2018-2022 four-year period. Ribeiro took over the management in place of Paulo Sérgio Saran, who held the position from 2002 to 2018. The inauguration ceremony at Cotil was on Thursday night (3) with the participation of the rector of Unicamp, Marcelo Knobel and the general coordinator Teresa Atvars.
A physical education teacher, Ribeiro said he was “happy and honored” with the possibility of running the school. He highlighted that during his administration he intends to strengthen human relationships and expand pedagogical perspectives. Son of retired Cotil employee, Antonio Jeronymo Ribeiro, the new director was led to the board by his father and retired professor Agostinho Adam Júnior.
Paulo Sérgio Saran commented on the achievements of the three periods in which he was in charge of management. He said that the administration invested in modernizing the curriculum and in the internationalization of Cotil. He also drew attention to awards that the school has received, including internationally. “We always try to adopt a company vision, with the optimization of resources, the provision of quality services and the continuous improvement of our processes”, he stated.
Rector Marcelo Knobel recalled how much Cotil has already contributed to the formation of the population, with more than 50 years of operation. He said that the school needs to continue its search for excellence and drew attention to the recent challenge of debates on the New High School, whose changes must be approved in the National Common Curricular Base (BNCC).
The consultation for Cotil's general director was on June 25th. José Roberto Ribeiro competed with professor Augusto César da Silveira. 79 teachers, 20 employees and 739 students voted, with José Roberto Ribeiro obtaining 50,33% of the votes.
José Roberto Ribeiro is a specialist in Management Development for Public Universities from Unicamp, in Special Education from the Methodist University of Piracicaba (Unimep) and in Teaching Methodology and Didactics from the Faculty of Philosophy, Sciences and Letters of Batatais. Graduate and Bachelor in Physical Education from Unimep and Mechanical Technician from Cotil. An employee of the school from 1978 to 1987, he has been a teacher since 1987. He was administrative director from 2009 to 2010 and associate director from 2010 to 2014.
