The Civil Police located this Friday (17) the man suspected of spraying threatening phrases and Nazi symbols on the walls and computers of the Institute of Language Studies (IEL), Institute of Geoscience (IG), Central Library (BC) and Institute Physics (IF). He was taken to the 7th Police District to provide clarification. The identification was made based on images from the IEL's internal security circuit. The images were recorded on Wednesday (15) around 21 pm, in the IEL library. As soon as it became aware of the case, Unicamp's central administration opened an internal investigation and informed the police, who took over the criminal investigation work.
Unicamp is concerned about security on campus and has been taking several measures. Among them, the intensification of patrols at specific times and locations that are most vulnerable. The University also has an escort service whenever requested, within the campus, to accompany people to their cars in the parking lot, especially at night, and the Panic Button, an application for cell phones that allows direct and quick communication with the internal surveillance team.
