Unicamp is mourning the destruction of the National Museum of Rio de Janeiro caused by the fire that occurred on the night of this Sunday, September 2nd. In addition to preserving history and spreading the country's culture, the National Museum played a fundamental role in the advancement of knowledge. The regrettable and irreparable loss of the majority of its collection symbolizes the situation of total disregard for research in Brazil, which is mandatory and urgent to overcome.
