The Permanent Commission for Unicamp Entrance Exams (Comvest) will administer, next Sunday, December 2nd, the University's first Indigenous entrance exam. The Unicamp 2019 Indigenous Entrance Exam will be applied in five cities in the country: Campinas (SP), Dourados (MS), Manaus (AM), Recife (PE) and São Gabriel da Cachoeira (AM). “The number of registered candidates was surprising due to its regional characteristics, with emphasis on the significant presence of students from São Gabriel da Cachoeira, and the interests that the candidates demonstrated in the courses offered by Unicamp. We can observe a strong demand for careers in the areas of health and humanities, where Administration and Pedagogy stand out”, commented José Alves de Freitas Neto, executive coordinator of Comvest.

Since the 27th, journalists who are part of Unicamp's Executive Communication Secretariat have been in São Gabriel da Cachoeira, a city 850 kilometers from Manaus and which is home to more than half of the 610 applicants for Unicamp's first Indigenous Entrance Exam. The team monitors the preparations for the entrance exam and the daily lives of the indigenous communities that will participate in the process. The report and images captured by reporters can be followed daily on Saint Gabriel's Diary, published by the Unicamp Portal.
