The General Coordination of Unicamp (CGU) is launching a notice that will allocate the amount of two million reais for undergraduate renovation projects and revitalization of teaching laboratories. The units will be able to submit both types of projects: for those that include methodological updating activities or preparation of teaching materials, the ceiling will be thirty thousand reais and for revitalization projects that include the acquisition of equipment, instruments and inputs for laboratories, the The ceiling for each proposal will be five hundred thousand reais.
According to the general coordinator of Unicamp Teresa Atvars, the resource was approved for the 2019 budget and the objective will be to improve undergraduate teaching based on demands identified by the Dean of Undergraduate Studies (PRG). “It is an integrated action between the CGU and the PRG. We are seeking to reduce school dropout rates, failure rates in subjects and the time it takes for students to earn a degree. The strategic objectives of this notice are to create academic conditions to improve teaching and learning for our students,” she highlighted.
The notice will be available from Monday, (25) on the website GEPlanes. The CGU Information Technology team formed by Silviane Duarte Rodrigues, Alexandre Henrique de Melo and Ivania do Carmo Silva was responsible for creating a customizable platform, that is, one that can be reused for other notices, where the entire process will take place online, without any type of paper, in accordance with the Strategic Planning (Planes) guidelines and the Unicamp Digital concept. Each unit may register one project of each type or even joint projects under the responsibility of two or more units.
Atvars highlighted that the modernization of laboratories dedicated to undergraduate teaching depends exclusively on budgetary resources and needs to be carried out constantly. Likewise, it is necessary to update resources for curricular renewals such as teaching materials, for example. The project selection committee will be made up of the directors who make up the Institutional Strategic Planning Committee (Copei). The deadline for project registration is April 30th.
