Adolescents in Campinas consume fiber below the recommended amount and part of it comes from processed foods

A master's degree research from the Faculty of Medical Sciences (FCM) at Unicamp, defended in March this year, analyzed the intake of dietary fiber by 891 adolescents in the city of Campinas. It was found that, in addition to consumption being below the recommended amount, 25% of the fiber ingested comes from ultra-processed foods, such as packaged bread, chocolate milk and cookies.
