Indigenous people are considered guardians of biodiversity on the planet. They preserve and multiply a diversity of species, in lands that are preferably in the Amazon and occupy around 13% of the national territory. Agricultural expansion and actions by the Federal Government have represented threats to indigenous territory.
The Permanent Forum “Indigenous Lands and National Interests” brought together, at the Unicamp Convention Center, last Monday, 20th, those interested in the topic such as the first indigenous federal deputy Joênia Wapichana or the environmentalist and professor at the Institute of Philosophy and Human Sciences (IFCH) from Unicamp, Luiz Marques. Follow the video made by Unicamp Radio and TV some of the main questions that guided the debate.
The Permanent Forums Program is developed by the Dean of Extension and Culture. Look here the schedule of upcoming events.
