CRUESP statement no. 04/2019
São Paulo, 27 May 2019
The Council of Rectors of São Paulo State Universities (CRUESP) in a meeting held with the Forum of the Six on this date, considering the scenario of uncertainty that the country is going through, the current financial situation of São Paulo Universities and the need to mitigate salary losses occurring during Over the last twelve months without, however, deepening the Universities' budget deficit, it established a 2,2% adjustment from May 1st, in the salaries of administrative and teaching staff at the three institutions.
In due course, USP and Unicamp will present the adjustment index proposed by CRUESP to their respective University Councils for approval and retroactive payment.
As previously defined, CRUESP proposes to Fórum das Seis to jointly monitor the evolution of ICMS collection in the State of São Paulo throughout the 1st semester and mid-2nd semester. If revenue by the end of September reaches 80 billion, for a projected annual revenue of 108,2 billion, a new meeting between CRUESP and the Fórum das Seis is now scheduled for the 2nd half of October.
Specifically in the case of UNESP, as the priority is to guarantee the payment of the 13th salary for 2019, the University will evaluate the best time to apply the adjustment index approved by CRUESP.
CRUESP also maintains the proposal to create a Working Group to establish salary policy for the three Universities in the coming years, and a GT to monitor the Pension Reform proposal.
