A total of 211 technical and regular high school students were present at the Inova Jovem 2019 Program Workshop that took place last Saturday, September 28th. The teams are made up of three to five members from the same school and, this year, they come from 37 schools in seven Brazilian states – Maranhão, Minas Gerais, Pará, Paraná, Rio de Janeiro, Rio Grande do Norte and São Paulo – and the Federal District, with schools from more distant cities participating online.
According to professor Newton Frateschi, executive director of Inova Unicamp, the program is essential for promoting entrepreneurship: “Inova Jovem is a very important program because it works to increase people interested in entrepreneurship and innovation since high school. This is what we need to develop a sustainable knowledge-based ecosystem.”
The registered registered teams that participated in the Workshop will have until October 7th (Monday) to improve their business models (Canvas) started during the Workshop. Delivery must be made in accordance with guidance available on the program's official website.
On October 15th, the six finalist teams will be announced, who will receive mandatory online pitch training on October 18th and return on October 21st in person or online (depending on the teams' location).
The grand final will take place on October 31st during the InovaCampinas Trade Show, when the teams will present their pitches in person and compete for prizes in two categories: Popular Vote (trophy and certificate) and Bank Evaluation (trophy, certificate, symbolic check and thousand reais per member – gross value). Entry to the final event of the program is free.
