Between the 19th and 31st of October, the first edition of the Campinas Innovation Festival will take place, a movement that includes hundreds of activities such as workshops, cultural attractions, lectures and seminars spread across the city. To date, 115 events are on the program in categories such as entrepreneurship, innovation, IoT, smart cities, creativity, culture, scientific dissemination, technology, health, human development, among others. The official launch of the event was held on Monday afternoon (14), in the University Council Room (Consu), at Unicamp, and was attended by the mayor of Campinas, Jonas Donizette. The Campinas Innovation Festival was created and is promoted by the Fundação Fórum Campinas Inovadora (FFCi) with the participation of the City of Campinas.
The festival's proposal is to promote knowledge beyond conventional spaces. To this end, around 50 institutions will carry out activities available to the public on university campuses such as Unicamp, PUC-Campinas, Mackenzie and UniMetrocamp, colleges such as São Leopoldo Mandic and IESCAMP, university centers such as Unisal, in addition to municipal departments, cultural centers , coworking spaces, accelerators, startups, companies, schools, bars, squares and city parks.
The closing of the festival will take place on the 30th and 31st of October together with the 6th edition of the InovaCampinas Trade Show 2019, which includes conferences, business rounds and exhibitions, at Expo D.Pedro. The event is today considered the epicenter of technology and innovation in Brazil. Free of charge, the fair in 2018 had more than 6 thousand participants, 30 conferences, 100 exhibitors and 1,5 thousand business meetings.
