The Permanent Commission for Entrance Exams (Comvest) begins to apply the tests of the second phase of the Unicamp 2020 Entrance Exam in Next Sunday, January 12th. This will be the first year that Comvest will apply the second phase of the entrance exam in a new format, with just two days. With the new model, candidates will take tests in subjects related to the area of the course chosen when registering. However, tests in Portuguese, Mathematics and some interdisciplinary questions are mandatory for all students - including the subject of English, which will be present again in the second phase. The editorial team remains in the second stage, with two proposals, but now requires the production of just one text, instead of two.
The tests will be carried out in 22 cities: Bauru, Belo Horizonte, Brasília, Campinas, Curitiba, Fortaleza, Guarulhos, Jundiaí, Limeira, Mogi Guaçu, Osasco, Piracicaba, Presidente Prudente, Ribeirão Preto, Salvador, Santos, São Bernardo do Campo, São Carlos, São José do Rio Preto, São José dos Campos, São Paulo and Sorocaba. The test will start at 13 hours, but the guidance is for candidates to arrive in advance. They are approved for the second phase 13.589 candidates.
Timetables
Candidates are advised to arrive at the test site at 12 noon, as access to the test sites will be until 13 pm without fail. Leaving home in advance is important, considering that the candidate may encounter heavy traffic in some places. Comvest advises candidates to travel to the test location before the day of the exam, to know the route.
Comvest emphasizes that candidates should pay attention to the published test locations, as they will not necessarily be the same where the candidate completed the first phase. In addition to the locations, there are also city change as indicated in the table below:

How was the second phase
The second phase consists of tests with essay questions. Each essay question is worth four points, each containing two items, worth two points each. At the first day, The tests common to all candidates are:
– Writing (consisting of two text proposals for the candidate to execute only one proposal);
– Portuguese Language and Portuguese Language Literatures, with eight questions;
– two interdisciplinary questions in English.
In the second day, there is a part with tests common to all candidates: Mathematics with six questions; interdisciplinary test in Human Sciences with two questions and interdisciplinary test in Natural Sciences with two questions, in addition to another specific part related to the area of the chosen course:
– candidates from the area of Biological Sciences/Health: six questions from Biology and six questions from Chemistry;
– candidates from the area of Exact/Technological Sciences: six questions from Physics and six questions from Chemistry;
– candidates from the area of Human Sciences/Arts: six questions from Geography and six questions from History, covering Philosophy and Sociology content.
What to bring to the test
In the second phase, candidates must bring the original identity document indicated in the application, a black pen on transparent material, a black pencil and an eraser. The use of a transparent ruler and compass will be permitted. It will no longer be necessary to take a photo, as Comvest will adopt facial recognition technology in all test locations. The use of cell phones or any other electronic equipment, digital watches, liquid correction fluid, mechanical pencil, highlighter pen, bandana/scarf, cap, hat, or other foreign proof materials is prohibited. The candidate may use a watch to keep track of time, but all watches must be placed on the floor, next to the desk. Allowed: water, juices, sweets, shorts and light clothing.

The Specific Skills tests for the Architecture and Urban Planning, Performing Arts, Visual Arts and Dance courses will be held in Campinas between January 20th and 24th, 2020. The first call will be announced on February 10 and those invited to this call must register in person (via the internet) only on the day February 11, exclusively on the Comvest website, in a specific form. Anyone who does not register virtually will be excluded from the next Unicamp 2020 Entrance Exam calls.
This year, 66.833 candidates took the first phase test, competing for one of the 2.570 places in 69 undergraduate courses at Unicamp.
