At 28 years old, Mateus Souza, graduated in Mechanical Engineering from Unicamp, is one of the Brazilians on the list “Forbes Under 30” referring to the year 2020.
The annual evaluation is carried out by Forbes Brasil magazine. This year, it selected 90 young people under 30 who stood out in 15 categories analyzed. Souza was selected in the Retail and E-commerce category due to his role in co-founding and managing the company's marketplace orbit, a Joint Venture of the German multinational Bayer, specialized in e-commerce for the agricultural sector.
The former student's first contact with entrepreneurship was in 2012, when he participated in the Unicamp Challenge, one of the training activities of the free business modeling competition organized by the Unicamp Innovation Agency. According to Mateus Souza, the interest in entrepreneurship began through the knowledge shared at the event. “I agree when they say that Unicamp is the Stanford Brazilian, with interdisciplinary training and support for students to get involved with various projects during their degree, including entrepreneurship”.
