The show Entremeios, by students from the Performing Arts course at Unicamp, will be presented on the 14th and 15th of March in the second edition of the Student Theater Show at the University of São Paulo (TUSP). The event's program, in addition to including groups from the state of São Paulo, features works by artists from Santa Catarina, Brasília and Minas Gerais.

Entremeios is a work inspired by the work of Brazilian writer João Guimarães Rosa. “We selected eight short stories from the book Primeiras Estórias and one from the book These Estórias. Each of us chose a short story that spoke to our narrative and what we wanted to communicate”, explains Júlia Vilar, member of the Bandô de Teatro collective, responsible for its creation.

The show arose from an editing course in the Performing Arts course. After the debut season, which started in June 2019, the students thought about continuing to present it. “It was very important work for our training. There was a great desire for continuity and we signed up for some exhibitions and received feedback from Itaú Cultural and TUSP”, he points out. At Itaú Cultural, the group already performed in January, at the a_ponte - Cena do Teatro Universitário exhibition.

The composition of Entremeios uses different languages, providing, for example, aromatic experiences for the audience. Authorial musical compositions, by course teacher Marcelo Onofri, are also part of the scene. “It’s not a show that will tell the story of tales. The concern is to build a sensitive experience beyond rational apprehension. That’s why these different sensory experiences”, says Júlia.

Synopsis: Based on the work of João Guimarães Rosa, Entremeios is the materialization of a broad universe of fictional beings and their narratives of BEING. A game of bodies and realities that intertwine and dissolve, exploring the transitory nature of existence... As if there were no one, or if everyone were just one person, one life. “If you want to follow me, I will tell you, not an adventure, but an experience.”
