Cruesp statement
Considering the new recommendations from the Ministry of Health and the State Department of Health regarding the Covid-19 epidemic, released on this date in a press conference held at Palácio dos Bandeirantes, CRUESP informs:
1) The three public universities in the State of São Paulo will continue to make every effort to reduce the rate of increase of the disease in the State of São Paulo;
2) In-person classes will continue to be suspended at Unicamp, and will be suspended at USP and UNESP from 17/03/2020. The situation will be continually assessed, and the return date for in-person classes will be announced in due course.
3) Specific recommendations for the university community of each university are being widely disseminated on the respective portals;
4) In addition to fundamental participation in the health system of the State of São Paulo with assistance to the population through the SUS, Universities are stimulating their research programs to monitor the evolution of the epidemic, and seek improvements in diagnosis and treatment. We emphasize that technical committees were created at the three universities to monitor the situation and evolution of the epidemic.
