The diverse experiences during the pandemic were the motivation for creating the project Covid-19 Memories, in May this year. The platform, which continues to receive reports, will be launched this Friday (11), at the Austrian festival Ars Electronica. In addition to the platform, a documentary about the project will also be premiered. Check out the teaser:
The platform is curated and participated by nine Brazilian institutions, in addition to France and Portugal. The project coordinator, Unicamp professor Ana Carolina de Moura Delfim Maciel, comments that the bilingual platform already brings together more than 100 reports and demonstrates the plurality of experiences during the pandemic. “She is very plural. We have the common theme of the pandemic and isolation, but the perspectives are as diverse as possible. It’s a kaleidoscope of experiences,” she says.
Participation in Ars Electronica
For Ana Carolina, the launch of the platform on Ars Electronica is a source of pride for Unicamp. “Unicamp is participating in this festival which is subdivided into something they call gardens, so Unicamp joins this network of 120 locations where the festival takes place. It's fantastic visibility because a festival like this has a lot of reach at a time when virtuality is guiding the festival's very existence. We were very honored by the invitation,” she notes.
The Ars Electronica Festival has been taking place since 1979, focusing on the interface between art, technology and society. In the 2020 edition, entirely virtual, the program began on Wednesday (9) and continues until September 13th. The #MemóriasCovid19 Platform will be launched this Friday (11). The launch takes place at 18pm (Brazilian time). The broadcast can be followed at: https://ars.electronica.art/keplersgardens/memoriascovid19-brazil/
