The Coordination of Interdisciplinary Research Centers and Nuclei (Cocen) at Unicamp, in partnership with the General Coordination of the University (CGU), carried out a pre-launch of the video series “Minuto Units”. The premiere was held today (6) during the 168th Ordinary Session of the University Council (Consu). This is a continuation of the “Strategic Communication Project – Minuto Cocen”, completed in 2019, which aimed to publicize the main activities of Unicamp’s Interdisciplinary Research Centers and Nuclei in one-minute videos.
Ana Carolina de Moura Delfim Maciel, Cocen coordinator, was responsible for executing both proposals and highlights that expanding the University's communication was one of her main motivations. "Carrying out the Minuto Cocen Strategic Project was a goal that arose from the realization that we needed to communicate more efficiently the activities carried out in the system of Interdisciplinary Research Centers and Nuclei at Unicamp. This communication should be aimed at society, but equally at our internal community", he highlights.
Ana Carolina recalls that the project was approved by Unicamp's Strategic Planning (Planes) resulting in 21 videos. "As a result of the success of this endeavor, Professor Teresa Atvars requested that we present a project encompassing all Teaching and Research units and the Technical Colleges of Unicamp, a project that also received approval from Planes."
The "Strategic Communication Project for the Teaching and Research Units and Technical Colleges of Unicamp: Minuto Unicamp" was approved at the 152nd Ordinary Meeting of Copei (19/11/2019), within the GEPlanes Strategic Planning 2020. The general coordinator of Unicamp , professor Teresa Dib Zambon Atvars, explains that with the completion of the Minuto Cocen project, CGU proposed that Ana Carolina coordinate a similar project with the Teaching and Research Units. “I accept the challenge, the project was developed and executed. Unlike Minuto Cocen, carried out under normal, in-person conditions at the University, Minuto Units was carried out under conditions of social distancing, which added a highly complex component to the development of the project”, she assesses.
Executed largely remotely, “Minuto Units” involved extensive research to conceptualize the films in visual terms with the use of graphic elements in post-production. “With creativity, resilience and technical competence, Dr. Ana Carolina knew how to overcome this challenge and now we have launched another set of videos that help to publicize what Unicamp does, within the scope of teaching, research, extension and assistance activities”, highlights the general coordinator. Ana Carolina adds that it was a great challenge to carry out the recordings due to social isolation measures. "We filmed and finalized 24 videos covering teaching, research and extension activities, in agile and modern language, presenting data that support how the university interfaces with society. Minuto Unicamp is a birthday present for Unicamp's 54th anniversary" . The recordings were carried out at Cocen's facilities by the production company U7TRA, which also handles the post-production of the videos.
