Unicamp clarifies the Vaccination Plan for the Internal Community

NOTE OF CLARIFICATION

The implementation of the Unicamp Vaccination Plan will begin today, Tuesday (19). The University received 4 doses of the vaccine from the State Department of Health, which will enable the immunization of 2 professionals who work directly in caring for confirmed or suspected Covid-19 patients in the University's health units.

Taking into account the limited number of doses received at this time, we would like to clarify that:

  1. The plan follows the guidelines drawn up by the State of São Paulo in relation to the dates for applying the two doses of vaccines and also to the public that will be prioritized in this first phase of vaccination;
  2. The coordination of CECOM, CAISM and HC will define the list of employees to be immunized;
  3. This list will be created with responsibility and impartiality and will include professionals who represent the workforce in caring for the disease, and present a greater risk of contamination due to being in direct contact with confirmed or suspected patients;
  4. Thus, professionals who work in Emergency and Emergency Care Units, ICUs, specific wards for the treatment of COVID-19, Surgical Centers, Radiology and Neonatology Unit will be prioritized; in addition to those who directly deal with samples containing the virus.
  5. These workers will be recognized by their respective Units, and invited by them to attend vaccination stations at a pre-determined time, during the vaccination period.
  6. Other health workers who are not among those indicated for this first stage, and other groups foreseen in the first phase of the state vaccination plan (elderly, indigenous and quilombolas) will be included in the schedule as new doses of vaccines arrive at the University.

Additional Information:

1. The application will take place from 8:30 am to 21:30 pm at stations set up in the

HC, Caism and Cecom, following the following schedule:

The. At HC, the 1st dose will be applied from 19/01 to 29/01 and the 2nd dose from 09/02 to 19/02;

B. At Caism, the 1st dose will be applied from 19/01 to 27/01 and the 2nd dose from 09/02 to 17/02;

w. At Cecom, the 1st dose will be applied from 19/01 to 22/01 and the 2nd dose from 09/02 to 12/02.

We are facing today's biggest global challenge. Just over 14 months after the start of the coronavirus pandemic, science has produced the only antidote that can eradicate SARS-CoV-2: the vaccine. The availability of vaccines is, however, restricted and only the first step. There is still a long way to go. Only with a considerable number of people vaccinated can the circulation of the coronavirus be interrupted, ensuring protection for the population as a whole. Meanwhile, it is essential to maintain sanitary care, use of protective masks and social distancing.
