Note 01/2021 - Internal Committee for Monitoring Covid-19
Concern persists about the rise in the number of confirmed cases, mortality from COVID-19 and the increase in occupancy of intensive beds aimed at COVID-19 in different regions of the State of São Paulo. Therefore, it is essential and for an indefinite period, to remain in period 3 (P3) of Phase 2 of the In-Person Activities Resumption Plan. It is worth remembering that this worsening led to the regression of the São Paulo Plan to the yellow phase in 13 regions of the State and the orange phase in another 4 regions.
In this sense, the Internal Commission for Monitoring COVID-19 recommends:
- The extension of Period 3 of Phase 2 of the Resumption Plan for in-person activities for an indefinite period;
- That Units and Bodies continue to prioritize remote activities;
3. That all tests of employees or students in exceptional situations, or already foreseen in the Period 3 Spreadsheet for the return in January/2021, be maintained and/or scheduled from 11/01/2021. The replacement of employees or students will be permitted, as long as the number sent in the spreadsheet for Period 3 of the Resumption Plan is maintained. The use of the AVISU App and attendance to training through video classes (pillar and compulsory measures for face-to-face activities, together with the testing itself) remain compulsory.
Given the seriousness of the situation, the University will continue to follow the São Paulo Plan with the necessary caution and will make appropriate arrangements with the aim of ensuring the safety of the academic community, including the short-term dissemination of the Vaccination Plan as soon as a vaccine is available. for COVID-19.
The Commission emphatically reiterates to the entire academic community to respect the precautions recommended by health measures, with an emphasis on maintaining social distancing, not crowding and the systematic use of protective masks. A pandemic continues to leave a trail of irreparable losses and community vaccination, although close, will require everyone to maintain the hygienic-sanitary measures defined in the published protocols.
