CLARIFICATION NOTE - 2

The Vaccination Plan for the academic community began yesterday (19) at Unicamp, when 725 people were vaccinated. The University received 4 thousand doses of the vaccine from the State Department of Health, which will currently enable the immunization of 2 thousand professionals who must be working directly and continuously in the care of confirmed or suspected Covid-19 patients in the University's health units.

We all understand that the number of vaccines available at the moment is insufficient, which is why setting priorities is the only solution. There is great anxiety for everyone, but it is essential to strip away individuality for the collective good, the recognition of those who worked day in and day out caring for patients with COVID-19 and how difficult it is for everyone involved to provide the university with an efficient immunization system developed by the professionals from CECOM and the health sector.

Therefore, it was agreed that the coordinations of CECOM, CAISM and HC would define the list of employees to be immunized.

The lists were created by the competent sectors with responsibility and impartiality and include professionals who represent the workforce in caring for the disease, and therefore present a greater risk of contamination due to being in direct contact with confirmed or suspected patients.

Therefore, priority should be given to professionals working in Emergency and Emergency Care Units, ICUs, specific wards involved in the treatment of COVID-19 and the Neonatology Unit, in addition to those who directly deal with samples containing the virus.

Other health workers who are not among those indicated for this first stage, and other groups foreseen in the first phase of the state vaccination plan (indigenous people, quilombolas and the elderly) will be included in the schedule as new doses of vaccines arrive at the University.

Today (20) vaccination in the health sector was temporarily suspended to correctly align priorities, but has now been reestablished. The workers will be recognized by their respective Units (CAISM, HC, Hemocentro and Gastrocentro), and invited by them to attend the vaccination stations at a pre-determined time, during the vaccination period.

Unicamp's rectory has among its functions, in this context, to mediate conflicts and be aware of the exemption and responsibility that occurs in this process as a whole. We are sure of everyone's commitment, however, any irregularity will be subject to the determination of responsibilities through an internal investigation.

There is still a long way to go. Meanwhile, it is essential to maintain health care, use of protective masks and social distancing.
