Having become aware of an audio by chemist Marcos Nogueira Eberlin* about vaccines, the Brazilian Chemical Society (SBQ) makes public its repudiation of the published content, as it contains unfounded and unethical statements, without commitment to scientific evidence, and issued by someone who has never worked with vaccines or similar areas.
Specialist in mass spectrometry (EM), Marcos Eberlin, as he prefers to be referred to, has published as an author or co-author numerous articles in recent years in SBQ magazines, generally on EM applications to various topics in specific areas. These articles have always been evaluated by fellow experts in the respective specific areas and/or MS.
Vaccines are developed and produced based on scientific studies carried out by researchers in biological and health sciences, requiring specialized scientific knowledge.
To guarantee qualified speech and an unquestionable commitment to scientific evidence, rejecting any and all statements without scientific basis, the SBQ will soon publish a document analyzing the content of the aforementioned audio, issued by experts in vaccines and ethics.
However, the SBQ declares that the dissemination of factional, unilateral and destructive statements that can cause the death of people is unacceptable.
At the moment, vaccines are the only effective solution available to combat the Covid-19 pandemic. This is the reason why SBQ reinforces its commitment to ethics, science and truth and declares its unrestricted support for vaccination against COVID-19, vehemently condemning the support for early treatments without scientific proof of effectiveness (for example, chloroquine , hydroxychloroquine, ivermectin, whether or not combined with azithromycin, and others).
Vaccines approved by ANVISA are safe and will save lives.
