The second phase of the Unicamp 2021 Entrance Exam ended this Tuesday, February 9th. With compliance with biosafety protocols in relation to Covid-19, there were no complications during the administration of the tests. The abstention rate remained close to that of the first day of the second phase, closing at 8,8%, the lowest in 10 years. In 2021, 3.237 places are offered in 69 undergraduate courses at Unicamp. The Entrance Exam will also continue with the Specific Skills tests, required for the Architecture and Urban Planning, Performing Arts, Visual Arts and Dance courses.
Of the 15.470 candidates qualified to take the tests in the second phase, 14.113 appeared on the second day of this stage, totaling a percentage of 8,8% absent. “Despite the enormous challenge of taking a test during the pandemic, we can say that Unicamp succeeded”, says the executive coordinator of the Permanent Commission for Entrance Exams (Comvest) at Unicamp, José Alves de Freitas Neto. “Candidates consider the possibility of being at Unicamp even in a scenario of great uncertainty regarding access to university life.” Furthermore, the professor highlights, the students seem to have recognized a test that has become closer to them, with multiple languages.
Heterogeneity of content and difficulty were characteristics of the test
Regarding the content and character of the test, the Comvest coordinator highlights, in Natural Science questions, questions about everyday events, which can be explained by science. Examples include fires in different biomes and the operation of a pressure cooker. Questions about the pandemic were also present.
In the Human Sciences test, one of the discussions was about colonialism and the category of the exotic. In general, he notes, the questions in each area were balanced based on the basic content of high school.
“The test changed to be able to follow the dynamics of the contemporary world and consequently the test also changed to follow the inclusion policies of the University itself. There is no way to propose inclusion policies and not incorporate other conceptions of the world and other languages”, says the professor, who also points out that a good entrance exam values science and its application in everyday life.
Regarding the pedagogical conception of the test, Comvest's academic coordinator, professor Márcia Rodrigues Mendonça, highlights that, in addition to the appreciation of science, contemporary themes and democratic culture, it included a diversity of degrees of difficulty. “This is a principle adopted to consider the heterogeneity of our audience, the heterogeneity of the courses offered and the competition for a vacancy so that different profiles can be evaluated”, she emphasizes.
The test is now available on the Comvest website, as are all the previous ones. Check out: http://www.comvest.unicamp.br/vestibular-2021/provas/
