Love, humor and information are the ingredients of “Tempo PrA Ciência”, a new animation developed by Wilson Lazaretti, professor at the Institute of Arts in the Department of Plastic Arts at Unicamp (State University of Campinas/SP) and founder of the Animation Cinema Center of Campinas (NCAC), for the “Task Force – Unicamp against Covid-19”.
The short film illustrates, in a didactic and artistic way, the action of the vaccine on our body and how the antibodies necessary to fight the virus are produced. “The film’s drawings are in the population’s imagination, as they are topics that are talked about every day. I think that by giving them a form, through animation, perhaps we will contribute to increasing the desire for the vaccine”, comments Lazaretti. “I also wanted to add small doses of humor and talk a little about love, as we miss its practice in real life at this time of pandemic”.
The project is the second short film developed by Lazaretti for the “Task Force – Unicamp against Covid-19”, which he launched last year “When all this is over”, a film made together with eight of the animator's former students, students mainly from the Plastic Arts course at Unicamp, and which already has more than 100 thousand views on the TV Unicamp channel, on YouTube.
Although he created the animation alone, in less than a month, Lazaretti had technical guidance from three professors from the Task Force so that there would be no misunderstandings regarding the scientific data. With narration by Cátia Massoti, art direction and editing by Eliana Ribeiro and soundtrack by Eduardo Virgilio, the work is executive produced by Maurício Squarisi.
