Since April 28, the country has been experiencing days of public protests, which began over a tax reform proposal. The conflict evolved into diverse social causes and took on major proportions with clashes between Colombian security forces and protesters. Conflicts are taking place in several Colombian cities, but according to protesters Cali, in Valle del Cauca, is being considered the epicenter of the protests, where 17 of the 26 deaths announced by authorities so far have been recorded. According to unofficial sources, the number of deaths so far is much higher.
According to the group of Unicamp students, friends and family are using social media to spread news about the real situation in the country, as censorship is being imposed on media outlets. The expectation is to hold a protest march today (Friday), without blocking access to Unicamp. The idea is to occupy 50% of the roads towards the center of Campinas.
