Until September 24th, CIS Guanabara will be one of the main immunization centers against Covid-19 in the city of Campinas. A partnership between CIS, Campinas City Hall and Unimed Campinas will make it possible to immunize approximately 14 thousand people. The action began on August 17th, targeting city residents aged 18 or over. The campaign lasts 29 working days, including the September 7th holiday.
The sociologist and director of CIS-Guanabara, Marcelo Rocco, highlights that the Cultural Center's participation in this action has an important humanitarian nature. “It is worth remembering that Unicamp was one of the first institutions to mobilize in the fight against Covid-19 in Campinas, and as expected, it expands its assistance by making CIS-Guanabara available for this cause of humanitarian emergency, after all, a cultural center is an expression of a a living society, and a vaccine is life.”
In this action, the City Hall offers vaccines distributed by the Government of São Paulo, in addition to supplies such as syringes and needles. Unimed Campinas assumes technical responsibility for the site, coordinates the nursing work to apply the doses and provides professionals to carry out the entire process, from checking documentation to registering those vaccinated in the national system, as required by the Ministry's National Immunization Plan of health.
To receive the Covid-19 vaccine, it is essential to make an appointment in advance via the website Campinas Vaccine. Further information can be obtained at the same email address. In addition to CIS Guanabara, the immunization campaign against Covid-19 in Campinas takes place every day in 64 other health centers.
This action at CIS-Guanabara is coordinated by cultural agent Flávio Henrique de Almeida Prado. The Unicamp Cultural Center for Inclusion and Social Integration is located at Rua Mário Siqueira, 829, in the Guanabara neighborhood. The campaign takes place from Monday to Friday, from 8am to 12pm and from 13pm to 17pm. Parking can be used free of charge.
