Unicamp publisher will donate more than 65 thousand books to public libraries, NGOs and prisons in the state of São Paulo

Editora da Unicamp has just launched a book donation campaign for institutions in the State of São Paulo. The purpose of the action is to disseminate quality intellectual productions, making technical, artistic and scientific works accessible to different audiences. Thus, the Publisher hopes to share knowledge and encourage reading in the most varied spaces.

Those interested in receiving the donation must submit the request by February 25, 2022. It is necessary to complete the donation form presented in the Annex II of Notice GR 4/2021 and send it to the email: doacao@editora.unicamp.br.

With the campaign, Editora da Unicamp intends to deliver titles to each audience that address subjects related to their interests and, to this end, three batches were organized. Lot A will be destined for high school libraries, lot B was reserved for non-specialized libraries and lot C is indicated for university libraries.

To receive the donation, the institution must be part of one of the following library groups: municipal public libraries, schools, universities, prisons, non-profit non-governmental organizations, local authorities, foundations or other public entities, exclusively from the state from Sao Paulo.

Unicamp Publisher – Donation of books

The Rector at the State University of Campinas, in the exercise of his powers, MAKES IT KNOWN that Unicamp Publishing makes the book donation procedure public, upon expression of interest and carrying out the procedures described by this Notice and its annexes.

1. OBJECT

1.1 This is a donation of books published by Editora da Unicamp between 1989 and 2016.

1.2 The books will be donated in closed lots, composed according to the potential interest of high school libraries (lot A); non-specialized libraries (lot B); university libraries (lot C). See list of books present in each batch in Annex I.

1.3 Books eligible for donation are in good condition, but may contain minor damage.

2. PARTICIPATION

2.1 The following may receive books in the form of donations: public libraries in the State of São Paulo; libraries of municipal, state and federal schools in the State of São Paulo; libraries of public universities in the State of São Paulo; prison libraries in the State of São Paulo; libraries of non-profit non-governmental organizations located in the State of São Paulo; agencies, foundations or other public entities located in the State of São Paulo.

3. REQUEST AND WITHDRAWAL OF DONATION

3.1 The donation request will take place between September 10th and November 19th, 2021, by completing and sending the donation form presented in Annex I, to the email doacao@editora.unicamp.br.

3.2 Requests will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis and according to availability in the collection of books scheduled for donation.

3.3 The donation of books will be formalized by signing a Donation Term, duly completed and signed by the donee and by 2 (two) members of the Committee. See Annex II.

3.4 Books must be collected from the Unicamp Editora's stock on Rua Claudio Abramo

345, Campus Unicamp, Cidade Universitária Zeferino Vaz, Campinas, São Paulo, from Monday to Friday, from 8:30 am to 17:30 pm. It is also possible to request that books be sent by post or courier. Transport or shipping costs will be the responsibility of the grantee.

3.5 Collection must be made by prior appointment via email doacao@editora.unicamp.br

3.6 Withdrawal must be made within 10 working days of signing the Donation Term. Any request for an extension of time may be granted upon request from the grantee, when presented within the deadline for collecting the material.

3.7 If the deadline for collecting the material is missed, the donation will be considered null and void.

4. GENERAL PROVISIONS

4.1 Participation in the donation procedure implies full knowledge and acceptance of the conditions stipulated in this Notice.

4.2 The donating institution is prohibited from receiving any benefits as a bonus for donated books.

4.3 The sale of books received as a donation is expressly prohibited.

4.4 To resolve doubts or resolve issues related to this Notice, you can contact us via email doacao@editora.unicamp.br.

4.5 Omitted cases, not provided for in this Notice, will be judged by the Donation Management Committee with the Editorial Board of Unicamp.

5. FROM THE JURISDICTION

5.1 To resolve any legal issues linked to this notice, the forum of the Municipality of Campinas – São Paulo is elected.
