A candidate-vacancy relationship overall went from 24 to 24,9% this year.

For the director of Comvest, José Alves de Freitas Neto, the drop was expected. “The context of student demobilization and the strong economic crisis caused many to postpone their preparation or even admission to a public university. The drop in ENEM enrollees and the decrease in requests for fee exemptions were other signs that pointed to the drop.” José Alves highlighted the importance of Comvest having extended the deadline for registrations. “When we extended registrations, we obtained the participation of over eight thousand students, including around a thousand who had been granted the exemption, but had not registered,” he explained.

Social inclusion

The percentage of registered public school students was 30,5%. The rate of self-declared black and brown candidates was 19,1% and the percentage of students who opted for ethnic-racial quotas was from 10,7% of the total number of registrants. The percentage of enrolled students who benefited from the registration fee exemption is among the highest in recent years, with 11,5% of the total number of candidates, representing 7.267 registered.

For the director of Comvest, although the drop had a greater impact on public school students and self-declared black and brown students, the fluctuation is on the same margin as that of other students. “We hope to have a good response to the Enem-Unicamp Notice, with registrations starting in November, to meet our affirmative action goals. We will be able to select the 2022 entrants well”, stated José Alves.
