Unicamp was in the group of the 15% best universities in the QS World University Rankings 2023 evaluation. It is the best result since 2014, the first year in which it was evaluated. In Brazil, it is in second place, behind USP. In the world rankings, it is in 210th position. The ranking evaluated 2.462 universities and was released this Wednesday (8). The university that tops the world list is the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
Unicamp rose nine positions in relation to the previous ranking, going from 219th to 210th. The standout criterion was academic reputation, an issue in which it ranks 93rd. To assess reputation, British publisher Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) collected the assessment of 130 higher education experts, who identified the most prestigious institutions.
“I was pleased to receive the news that Unicamp rose nine positions in the QS world rankings. The result reveals the University's efforts to more efficiently disseminate the data that prove the quality of our teaching, research and extension activities”, points out the dean of Unicamp, Antonio Meirelles.
The QS assessment, carried out annually, is one of the most respected in the world. The criteria considered are academic reputation, reputation among employers, scientific citations, international research partnerships, presence of foreign students and professors and student employability rate.
