The Innovation Agency of the State University of Campinas (Inova Unicamp) today opened a free call for submissions of experiences from Unicamp's daughter companies in four categories: Socio-environmental Impact, Innovation, Female Leadership and Greater Growth (Scale-up). The award is held in partnership with the group of entrepreneurs Unicamp Ventures and registrations are open to receive success stories until the 21th of September.
“This is the sixth edition of our awards aimed at companies in our ecosystem with the aim of learning about and recognizing the good experiences of these businesses. In particular, recognizing the talent of our entrepreneurial community, which is essential to leveraging success in each of the categories evaluated”, explains Vanessa Sensato, director of institutional relations and communication at Inova Unicamp.
The winning companies in this year's four categories will hold a pitch, a short presentation about the business model and success in the category, and will be awarded with a trophy during the 17th Unicamp Ventures Annual Meeting, which will be held in person in Campinas.
The winners will also automatically be classified as finalists for Entrepreneur of the Year, a title that will only be announced at the event. By submitting a success story, all registrants from all categories are competing.
In this last category, the role of the entrepreneur in the success of the enterprise will be evaluated, which includes leadership, creativity and problem-solving capacity from shared experiences and the construction of strategic networks that collaborate with the development of the local ecosystem. For evaluation by the panel in accordance with the regulations, candidates must fill in information about the success story and the performance of the entrepreneur within the submission model.
In addition to the trophy, the person awarded Entrepreneur of the Year will be interviewed for the podcast Unicamp Ventures and will have access to 30 hours of Legal Consulting (in the areas of Corporate, Tax, Contracts and Negotiations) offered by the sponsor Reach Innovation Consulting.
How can I compete for the Unicamp Entrepreneur Award?
The Unicamp Entrepreneur Award is exclusive to the more than a thousand companies in the Unicamp ecosystem registered in the Inova database, that is, only for businesses that were created by former students, employees or professors of the University, as well as companies academic spin-offs and startups incubated or graduated by Unicamp Technology-Based Business Incubator (Incamp).
The award allows more visibility for the company and integration between entrepreneurs in the Unicamp ecosystem. Therefore, only applications will be accepted whose founding partners, who will compete for Entrepreneur of the Year, have or have already had a formal relationship with Unicamp.
The company can compete in more than one category and submit experiences with different partners, as long as the shared experience is diverse.
