The Inova Unicamp Innovation Agency, the Technological Innovation Center of the State University of Campinas (Unicamp), is present at ANPEI Innovation Conference 2022. The meeting takes place between November 30th and December 1st, in Campinas (SP), at the Royal Palm Hall Convention Center, and is expected to bring together around three thousand participants in debates and panels.

Conference partner, Inova Unicamp will be present with a stand, technology showcase and participation in a lecture about the local innovation ecosystem. The meeting is considered the largest event dedicated to research, development and innovation in Brazil. This year, it proposes to discuss how innovation and sustainability need to go together to develop an inclusive and conscious future in the country.

There, participants will have the opportunity to learn about how Inova Unicamp works to encourage sustainable innovation by protecting intellectual property developed at the university, with the transfer of technologies with economic, social and environmental impact, and the promotion of entrepreneurship and generation of new businesses based on science and technology.

The lecture “Local Innovation Network” will be given by professor Ana Frattini, executive director of the Unicamp Innovation Agency, and professor Mariano Laplane, executive coordinator of the International Hub for Sustainable Development (HIDS), on November 30th, at 16pm, on Palco Campinas.

Unicamp will also be present at the panel on the HUB model in Artificial Intelligence with public-private governance and specialized support for technology transfer. Professor José Romano, pro-rector of Unicamp, will talk about the Center Brazilian Institute of Data Science (Bi0S), based at Unicamp, which recently came into operation with a focus on research in the areas of medical diagnostics based on data science.

In the exhibition area, inventors of six technologies linked to health, oil and gas, semiconductors and materials engineering, developed by researchers from Unicamp, will be present to present solutions with high innovative potential and share the experience of licensed technologies, which are being market path.

One of the technologies can be applied to the treatment of bladder cancer, with excellent results in human tests. The nanotherapy medicine, in an advanced clinical phase, has already had Brazilian and American patents granted and led to the creation of an academic spin-off company from Unicamp, which works to overcome regulatory requirements for commercializing the product.

Other technologies involve green processes and nanotechnology, with the application of graphene and graphitic particles to develop new conductive materials. Among them is a “green” rubber that does not require vulcanization and has electroconductive properties. Read more

Also on display at the stand will be the process of a conductive paste based on expanded graphite – which can be used in the production of flexible films, with applications in body heating systems, electrodes and miniaturized heaters – and a non-invasive ultrasonic system for monitoring flows. common in the production and transportation of hydrocarbons in the oil and gas industries.

Inova's objective with the initiative is to provide visitors with the chance to learn about the opportunities for innovation that are generated at the public university, establishing connections with professors, researchers, daughter companies and other partners in this ecosystem.
