Universities in São Paulo issue note on interruption of payment of Capes scholarships

The Deans of Postgraduate Studies at São Paulo State Universities express their extreme concern about the contingency imposed on Capes by the Ministry of Economy, making it impossible for the Foundation to honor its payment commitments for the more than 200 thousand scholarship holders in the country.

This is yet another example that reflects the unsustainable situation in which Brazilian education finds itself, its financing conditions and its development bases.

It is urgent that the authorities in force take measures for the immediate reversal of this situation, so that the minimum of normality in the life of the scholarship holders is preserved.
