On Tuesday (6/12) the Unicamp Chamber of Education, Research and Extension (Cepe) approved the creation of the Hives Extension Program for Pre-University and Pre-University Courses. The Program is directly linked to the Dean of Extension and Culture. In 2023, another stage of expansion is planned with the creation of the pre-university course Colmeias do Jardim São Marcos, in Campinas.
History
The “Colmeia” pre-university course began in Limeira, in 2010, as part of extension programs at the Faculty of Applied Sciences (FCA), with the aim of offering preparatory training for public school students. The teachers are graduate students with scholarships from FCA and the Faculty of Technology (FT) and around 4 students attended the course, with an entrance exam approval rate of 51%.
As of 2019, professor Josely Rimoli, creator of the initiative, saw the need to create the Colmeia online pre-university course, for quilombola, indigenous and adolescent communities at Fundação Casa. At the same time, the idea came to offer pedagogical support, through scholarship teachers, for courses in Campinas, preparatory courses for the entrance exam and high school (pre-vestibulinhos) such as Marielle Franco and Malunga Thereza Santos. The initiative generated the “Pre-university Hives” program and was requested to be integrated into the Dean of Extension and Culture, ProEC.
