What are social movements? Democracy? Fascism or the Uberization of work? Explaining terms that are in the public debate and that generate doubts is the proposal of the video series “Conceituar”, which the Executive Secretariat for Communication (SEC) – Rádio e TV Unicamp launches this Thursday, June 22nd. The episodes will air on Thursdays on Unicamp's video channels (YouTube and Eduplay), in addition to the Unicamp Portal and the University's social media. They will also be shown on Canal Universitário Campinas (cable TV channel 10).
The first season, with six episodes, was created in 2022 during the electoral period, marked by a strong political dispute and the mass propagation of fake news. The proposal was to create a “first steps” collection on terms related to politics, in audiovisual format. The production and presentation are in charge of SAE (Student Support Service) scholarship holder Asriel Santana, a Philosophy student at the Institute of Philosophy and Human Sciences (IFCH) at Unicamp.
Each episode presents a short lesson on the topic, prepared by Unicamp professors, as well as other experts. The excerpts used in the episodes were transcribed and turned into storyboards for visual artist and animator Rafaela Repasch, an SEC intern and visual arts student at Unicamp. She created around 1.200 drawings per episode, in addition to caricatures of Asriel and the teachers.
For the second season, the “Conceituar” series will be incorporated into the Philosophy Extension Practices discipline (HG651) under the coordination of Professor Rafael Garcia. The proposal is to innovate the program by implementing the interview format, instead of animation. The second season will debate concepts in the area of ethics, covering different philosophical perspectives.
