The three state universities of São Paulo — Unicamp, University of São Paulo (USP) and Universidade Estadual Paulista (Unesp) — will hold on November 30th and December 1st the second edition of the Congress of Professionals at the State Universities of São Paulo (Conpuesp ). The event will be held at the Escola Superior de Agricultura Luiz de Queiroz (Esalq), at USP, in the city of Piracicaba, and aims to open a space for technical-administrative employees of the institutions to share successful projects and experiences implemented at universities . Registration of works is now open and can be done via official event website.
“The main idea is to promote the exchange of high-level professional experiences of our employees in all areas", comments Paulo César Montagner, head of the rector's office and one of the coordinators of the Conpuesp organizing committee. This second congress resumes the success of the first edition, held in 2011 at the Memorial da América Latina, in São Paulo. On the occasion, around 1,2 professionals were brought together, with the presentation of 518 works. "It was a very successful event, with many works presented that contributed with the enrichment of our units", highlighted Montagner. Now, the proposal is to make Conpuesp a permanent event, along the lines of the Unicamp Professionals Symposium (Simtec), which takes place every two years.
The meeting scheduled this year will be the first in a series of preparatory events that the congress organization intends to hold. In mid-March 2024, there should be a new edition at one of the Unesp units in the interior of the state, yet to be defined. In the second semester, it will be Unicamp's turn to welcome participants from other universities during the 9th edition of Simtec. The events end in November next year, with a large congress on the USP campus.
Edison Lins, coordinator of the School of Corporate Education at Unicamp (Educorp), and Cristiano Torezzan, professor at the Faculty of Applied Sciences (FCA), both members of the organizing committee, believe that, in addition to being a moment of exchanging experiences, Conpuesp It is also an initiative that values the contribution of employees to the excellence of the three universities in the academic scenario. "It is also a way for us to interact with the external public and to be accountable for the work carried out by universities", points out Lins.
For Torezzan, this is also an opportunity to strengthen ties between professionals from the three institutions. “It is a return to face-to-face interaction between universities. Everything is being thought of so that the Congress is productive from a professional point of view and very pleasant socially,” she says.
