Unicamp incubator receives certification of good practices from Anprotec and Sebrae

A Incubator of Unicamp Technology-Based Companies (Incamp)Withmanaged by the Unicamp Innovation Agency (Inova Unicamp), it received certification of the level 4 maturity seal in incubator management, for reaching the maximum level of good practices in incubation.

Certification as a Reference Center for Support for New Enterprises (Cerne) is offered by the National Association of Entities Promoting Innovative Enterprises (Anprotec) and by the Brazilian Micro and Small Business Support Service (Sebrae) e attests to the maturity model of the incubator's ability to generate successful ventures impacting the environment, generating results and global positioning.

“We received the news that Incamp was certified at the highest level with great satisfaction. It is recognition of all the planning, value addition and monitoring work for the development of new technology-based businesses, carried out by Inova Unicamp. The certification comes to further strengthen Unicamp's entrepreneurial ecosystem and its international partnerships”, celebrates professor Ana Frattini, executive director of Inova Unicamp.

O Heartwood is an initiative by Anprotec and Sebrae for determine good practices to be adopted in various processes, which are associated with maturity levels.

  • Heartwood 1: The Incubator is capable of prospecting and selecting good ideas and transforming them into businesses;
  • Heartwood 2: The Incubator promotes effective management of the innovation environment as an organization;
  • Heartwood 3: The Incubator established a network of partners, with the aim of increasing the probability of success of the supported ventures;
  • Heartwood 4: The Incubator is mature enough to consolidate its innovation management system.

With level 4, in addition to generating innovative ventures and effectively managing the organization, the Incubator maintains a good relationship with graduates, with well-defined graduation and operationalization practices, and has well-structured communication and marketing planning for society. The incubator starts to generate innovations in its own processes, according to Anprotec's definition.

Mariana Zanatta Inglez, ccoordinator of eentrepreneurship and business environments iinnovation of Inova Unicamp, alsoin highlights that “the highest level certification at Cerne 4, which attests to the internationalization activities and global positioning of the Incubator, recognizes Incamp as an important arm of development local, national and international, generating effective results of innovation and sustainability, adding value to local development”.

The announcement of the new certification took place during the 33rd Anprotec Conference, held in Brasília (DF), whose theme was “Innovation and Society: Emerging Technologies and the Transformation of Entrepreneurship”, and which brought together representatives of the Brazilian entrepreneurship and innovation ecosystem.

“We celebrate here good practices in all Incamp processes, from Pre-incubation, Incubation to Graduation of companies, with emphasis on generating impact with effective results, with the awareness of various actors”, highlights Vital Yasumaru, entrepreneurship supervisor at Inova Unicamp and Incamp.

Unicamp Incubation Program

Companies with ideas or ba projectsif technological, in an embryonic phase or at the beginning of their operations, they can participate in the Incubation Program and receive mentoring and support from Unicamp's Technology-Based Business Incubator (Incamp) for up to three years.

  • Phase 1 - Pre-incubation: It is the stage for the maturation of ideas, products and technologies. At this stage, the entrepreneur normally does not yet have entrepreneurial expertise.
  • Phase 2 - Incubation: This is the stage in which the entrepreneur, for up to three years, receives the necessary conditions to develop the product and technology and then take them to the market. During incubation, “matching” between the company and the customer also occurs. It represents the moment to “get your hands dirty”.
  • Phase 3 - Graduation: This is the final stage, that is, when your business is ready to explore the market, your company will graduate from the incubation process.
