BGEnergy, a company from Unicamp's Scientific and Technological Based Business Incubator (Incamp), won first place in one of the study groups at the XXVII National Seminar on Electric Energy Production and Transmission (SNPTEE). Considering the role that companies play in their daily lives, the company presented its considerations at the exhibition held within the Study Group on Wind, Solar Generation and Other Distributed Energy Resources.
The research analyzed the production costs of the green hydrogen plant at the Itumbiara Hydroelectric Plant (UHE) and was conducted by Vitor Riedel Feitosa, executive director of BGEnergy and doctoral student at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering (FEM) at Unicamp. The HPP in question, located between Minas Gerais and Goiás, served as the subject for several studies by the company.
In addition to the award-winning work, BGEnergy presented three more studies related to that space. Part of the work was made possible by the strategic partnership between the incubated company and Eletrobras, a partnership initiated within the scope of the Technological Research and Development Project of the National Electric Energy Agency (Aneel).
SNPTEE: biggest event in Latin America
The event that awarded BGEnergy is in its 27th edition. Held in Brasília, in November, it broke an attendance record – with more than 5 thousand interested parties. In terms of scope, SNPTEE is the largest event in Latin America and the second largest in the world when it comes to energy.
Created to facilitate the sharing of knowledge and provide space for discussion about technological advances in the area, the seminar features technical study group sessions, academic forums, lectures and work presentations.
Another activity offered by the organization is ExpoSNPTEE, an exhibition that brings together suppliers and buyers of equipment and services in the Brazilian electricity sector. This year, more than one hundred national and international representatives were present there.
