The Paulo Duarte Public Archeology Laboratory (LAP) at Unicamp was included in a notice from the Dean of Extension and Culture (Proec) to carry out an extension project in public schools in Campinas, aimed at students from elementary school II and high school.
The LAP has provisional custody of the approximately 300 artifacts found in 2023 during excavations at the DOI-Codi building in São Paulo, one of the most active detention and torture centers in the country during the military dictatorship. A 3D model of the DOI-Codi building, as well as teaching materials on the topic, will be produced.
In the General Registry, the LAP coordinator, archaeologist Aline Vieira de Carvalho, discusses details about the project.
