In your last interview ao Journal of Unicamp as rector, Carlos Henrique de Brito Cruz states that, among his achievements at the head of the University, he would like to be remembered above all for three: the program to expand undergraduate places, as a result of which the largest investment was made in teaching infrastructure in the last three decades ; the affirmative action program, which combined academic value with the value of inclusion, increased the percentage of approved students from public schools from 28% to 34% and proved to be an original alternative to the so-called quota system; and the creation of the Innovation Agency, which increased the number of qualified partnerships and further valued the efforts of Unicamp researchers. This edition seeks to take stock of the main actions of the period 2002-2004, which will henceforth be known as the Brito Cruz years.
