A network a thousand times faster

The Gleb Wataghin Institute of Physics at Unicamp is developing a new optical amplifier that will make it possible to expand the current capacity of telephone and Internet transmissions via fiber optics by at least 300 times. According to Professor Hugo Fragnito, research coordinator, the amplifier will increase the speed of the network by a thousand times.
