NERVES OF STEEL
After art football and strength football, head football is in the making. This is what psychologist Regina Brandão suggests, who helped coach Luiz Felipe Scolari to draw up plans to work on the emotional side of the players who make up the Brazilian team. With a PhD from Unicamp, the researcher states that the athletes' skill and tactical application will not be decisive for a team's success in the 2002 World Cup. The difference, she assures, will be in the players' psychological preparation. “The best team is the one that knows how to expect the unexpected,” she says. page 12

CAZUZA
Master's thesis details the construction of the character Cazuza, protagonist of the book of the same name (above, cover of the 1979 edition) written by Viriato Corrêa from Maranhão and published in 1938, during the Estado Novo.
