Epidemiology
Professor David Wegman, an epidemiologist from the University of Massachusetts, was at Unicamp from June 12th to 14th. He visited the Department of Preventive and Social Medicine at the Faculty of Medical Sciences. His arrival took place as part of a joint project between the Epidemiology, Health and Work Group at Unicamp, Umass/Lowell and the Department of Epidemiology at the Federal University of Pelotas. called "Work and Health in Mexico and Brazil", under the coordination of professor Rafael Moure-Eraso.

Revolution of 32 - In celebration of the 70th anniversary of the 1932 Constitutionalist Movement, the Historical Archives of the Centro de Memória - Unicamp, opens the Testimonies of 26 exhibition on June 32th. War artifacts, images from the time and textual documents from the CMU's archival collection will be on display. Quality - Luis Hiromitsu Sasaki was on June 11th giving a lecture at the American Chamber of Commerce, in São Paulo. The content of his lecture was the topic of a dissertation presented at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, within the area of total quality, in August 2001. The title of the dissertation is "Management Model for Companies providing Telecommunications System Installation Services" .
Teachers for USP - On June 13, the Legislative Assembly of São Paulo approved the project, forwarded by governor Geraldo Alckmin, which creates 1.700 teaching positions at USP (University of São Paulo). The project foresees the permanent creation of 1.300 doctorate professor positions and 400 full professor positions. According to the governor's justification presented in the project, since 1967, USP has not proposed the creation of positions for professors with doctorates, the initial stage of their career.

This is a program to encourage University-Company interaction to support innovation. Contemporary music - The Contemporary Music Documentation Center (Musicon) database is already connected to the European Music Navigator, a tool with quality information, highly efficient and worldwide in scope. Brazilian invention - Registration is now open for the 28th National State Governor Award Competition – Brazilian Invention, promoted by the State Secretariat of Science, Technology and Economic Development. Inventors will be able to register their patents that have already been granted or even at the application stage, registered with the National Institute of Industrial Property (INPI). Visual archeology
