Reform could generate fiscal shortfall
SOCIAL SECURITY
- For economist Geraldo Biasoto Júnior, professor at the Unicamp Institute of Economics, the pension reform project sent to Congress by the government will waste public sector pensions and cause an unprecedented fiscal hole, affecting mainly states and municipalities. This will occur, according to Biasoto, due to the excess of demands that will reach the Judiciary regarding the transfer of contributions already made; also because the Court will lose judgment parameters due to the lack of a general rule on fund obligations regarding benefits and contributions; and, finally, due to the lack of criteria regarding the type and form of investment of resources, a situation that will generate many doubts regarding their adequate capitalization.
