Study reveals fall in middle class purchasing power

Research by professor Waldir Quadros (photo), from the Unicamp Institute of Economics, reveals numbers that explain the social relegation of the Brazilian middle class. The study points out that, in 2002, 39% of middle-class families had an income below R$1.000. Pages 8 e 9

At the invitation of Journal of Unicamp, seven intellectuals, three of whom are foreigners, talk about the humiliation and resurgence of violence in the Middle East.
