Unicamp evaluates results of anti-poverty program
Professor Antônio Márcio Buainain, from Unicamp's Institute of Economics, is coordinating extensive research to evaluate the results of the Program to Combat Rural Poverty in the Northeast. In ten years, the program has already received loans of US$800 million from the World Bank, benefiting 7,5 million people in approximately 30 communities, with thousands of small projects for water supply, electricity, housing, bridges and roads. This is the first time that a State social action has been evaluated for results. Pages 6 e 7.
