Hunger and the problems arising from it will be at the center of the debate at the seminar “Assessment of Policies for Food Availability and Security”, which takes place on October 20th, in the Zeferino Vaz Auditorium, at the Institute of Economics (IE). In an interview with Jornal da Unicamp, two of the event organizers, professors and economists Walter Belik (on the left) and Antonio Márcio Buainain (on the right), both from IE, anticipate the themes that will be discussed at the seminar, analyze the combat programs to hunger and talk about food insecurity in Brazil.

Researchers from the Unicamp Chemistry Institute have just developed a methodology capable of differentiating transgenic, normal and organic soybeans. Identification, which has a high degree of accuracy, can be done in 30 seconds. The new technique can be used to analyze other agricultural products.
