Book brings the best entrance exam essays
The entrance exam is very tiring, especially for those who take several exams at the same time. Still, every year, some Unicamp Entrance Exam candidates manage to stand out, not just because they pass, but because part of their tests are published in a book. “It seems like it will never happen to us. When I received a fax saying that my essay had been chosen among the best in the Unicamp entrance exam, I couldn't believe it”, says Samira Jorge Ferrari, 20 years old, from Medicine.
Samira is part of a group of thirty students with texts chosen for the Redações 2006 collection. The book published by Editora da Unicamp was launched on October 3, at an event in the auditorium of the Gleb Wataghin Institute of Physics, which brought together student-authors, family and friends. The Permanent Commission for Entrance Exams (Comvest) distributed copies of the collection and a diploma of honor to the honorees. The book is one of the publisher's best sellers and brings together ten narrative-style essays, ten dissertations and ten letters.
It was FEF's turn to host traveling Cepe
Following the cycle of itinerant meetings of the Teaching and Research Chamber, the Faculty of Physical Education (FEF), on October 3, received the members of Cepe outside their usual environment, the University Council hall (Consu). Presided over by rector José Tadeu Jorge, the meeting had at the table the general coordinator of the University, Fernando Ferreira Costa, the pro-rector of Undergraduate Studies Edgar Salvadori De Decca, the pro-rector of Postgraduate Studies Teresa Atvars and the director of the unit Paulo César Montagner.
Among the topics were competitions for teaching positions in different units, the approval of agreements with companies and development bodies, and the approval of specialization courses at the Faculty of Dentistry of Piracicaba, at the Computing Institute and at FEF itself. The idea of itinerant meetings, suggested by the rector, proved to be an excellent opportunity for reciprocal knowledge of the physical reality of each teaching and research unit. The next traveling meeting will be at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, on November 7th.
