História da Filosofia Moderna II Kant e as Ciências Exatas – Parte I: A Geometria PROPOSTA Esta
disciplina é a primeira de uma série em que se pretende examinar as relações entre
a filosofia de Kant e as chamadas ciências exatas, isto é, a geometria, a
aritmética, a cinemática e a dinâmica. A atenção estará voltada
principalmente para a filosofia crítica de Kant, com breves referências a
seus trabalhos pré-críticos. Procurar-se-á contrastar a perspectiva de Kant
com a de alguns filósofos e cientistas que o antecederam nessas
investigações, bem como investigar brevemente o possível abalo sofrido pelas
doutrinas de Kant em vista da evolução posterior dessas ciências nos séculos XIX
e XX. Neste
semestre trataremos da geometria, recorrendo às partes da Crítica da Razão Pura que têm
relevância para esses estudo, como a Estética Transcendental, algumas seções
da Dedução Transcendental, os Axiomas da Intuição na Analítica dos Princípios
e as duas primeiras antinomias da razão na Dialética Transcendental.
Trabalharemos também com obras bastante recentes de comentadores que se
dedicam ao tema. O final
do semestre letivo coincidirá com a realização do XIII Colóquio Kant da
UNICAMP, dedicado ao tema "Kant e a ciência de seu tempo", que
contará com a presença de Michael Friedman, autor do importante livro que
