The project
is to be partially developed during a sabbatical period
of research at Columbia University, US.
The goal of this research
is to study recent bilingual poetry anthologies published
in two of the following three languages: English, Spanish
and Portuguese. The corpus will be composed of anthologies
including works of several authors of the literary canon,
published in the last decade in the US, Brazil and Argentina.
The study will consist of a dual approach:
(1) An analysis of the bilingual anthologies as domains
of discursive construction of social representations
of trans-cultural identities;
(2) A comparative examination of the pedagogical instructions
regarding bilingual anthologies, in curricula of language
teachers' formation in New York Colleges and in the
public Universities of Sao Paulo, Brazil. A concomitant
result of the research will be the composition of a
bank of information on bilingual anthologies organized
by taking into account different linguistic, literary,
trans-cultural and pedagogical cartographies |
